मेरी चाहत में जब तुम होगी
मेरी आरजु बस तुम से ही होगी
आज रुला रही दुनिया मुझे
एक दिन मैं सौ रहा होऊंगा
और दुनिया रो रही होगी
ऐ मौत कब होगा मिलन

खुश हूँ मैं आज सौंप कर यें कहानी
बस याद करना अपने खुदा को
और पूछ लेना अपनी मौत-ऐ-कहानी
ऐ मौत कब होगा मिलन
|2|
कितने लोगों को ये हैं सुनानी
होगी सफल यें या होगा यें सब पानी
भूल जाओंगे एक दिन तुम राठौड़ को
भूला ना पाओंगे मौत-ऐ-कहानी
ऐ मौत कब होगा मिलन
|3|
मौत-ऐ-कहानी एक फरियाद हैं
बैजूबा की तड़पती हुई आवाज हैं
ड़रे सहमे से लोगों की भीड़ हैं बस यहाँ
इतनी जल्दी समझ में ना आनी
सत् सत् नमन मौत-ऐ-कहानी

उमंगों का सेलाब खत्म हुआ
मेरा सारा अरमान खत्म हुआ
अब बन्द करो ऐ! खुदा, अपनी मनमानी
ख़त्म हो गई अब तो मौत-ऐ-कहानी
